Bronchialasthma (BA) in children is difficult to diagnose, especially in children of the first six years of life. ByGINAexperts,BAdiagnosticproblemsinsmallchildrenandpreschoolchildrenare determined by the following facts: wide-spreadepisodesofwheezing breath, especially in children younger than 3; limited possibilities or no possibilities to test the pulmonary functionin small children. Becauseofthesefacts, BAdiagnosticsisnotinfrequentlybased oncomplaints, anamnesisandexamination, ondifferent BA phenotypes, often on impressions of third persons. In medical community and among parents, there is a mistaken opinion that the correct diagnosis cannot be put inchildren up to 6 years of age, and as a result, patients may be followed up for many years with alternative asthma diagnoses;they also do not receive necessary controlling ( basic) treatment, so they have repeated disease exacerbations andrepeated hospitalizations. The givenreview presents data debunking "myths", information on predictors, diagnostic criteria and BA phenotypesin children. The authors also discuss asthma underdiagnostics, peculiarities of BA diagnostics in frequently ill children, inchildren with bronchopulmonary dysplasia and diabetes.Литература
