The generally accepted rate of allergic rhinitis in children is associated with the ISAAC trial( The InternationalStudy of Asthma and Allergy in Children) in which 6–7 year-old children and adolescents from different countries werestudied. At the same time, some children have apparent signs of allergic rhinitis even at their early childhood. Objective:To assess the rate of symptoms of allergic rhinitis and its dynamics in 3–4 year-old children from thegeneral population in Moscow in a prospective cohort study. In 2011 in Moscow a cohort of 393 newborns was formed. In 2015 they were four years old. Data on symptomsof allergic rhinitis (by the ISAAC methodology ) were received in 2014 in 349 (89%) children; in 2015 in 325 (83%)children.For the first time, the researchersreceived the data on the frequency of allergic rhinitis symptoms in children at theend of preschool age in children from the general population in Moscow. The criteria associated with allergic rhinitiswere seen in 5.2% of children at the third year of their life and in 7.4% of children at the fourth year of their life.Disease symptoms are not permanent and depend on the year of life. The applied international criteria allowed to compare the obtained data with other existing ones from other age groups and from other countries. The rate of allergic rhinitis symptoms in the cohort of children from Moscow taken from the general population isa significant one and increases from 5.2% to 7.4% at 3 and 4 year-old children, respectively. Such signs at the endof preschool age are transitory and require further dynamic studies and assessment so as to use them for prophylacticpurposes.
