Knowledge-ability about the factors of the risk of the vasculardiseases of brain and the symptoms of strokeYa.E. We aimed to assess theknowledge of stroke among patients one of Moscow hospitalsand their relatives. Methods: A questionnaire consists of 45 questions, including 15 open-ended questions was administered orallyto 200 individuals (51% women; mean age 61,3 +8,2 years).Additional items provided information about respondents' ages, educational status, and personal experiences with strokes. Results: Of these 200 patients, 7% did not know any sign orsymptom of stroke. Unilateral weakness (80%) and dysphasia(19%) were the most frequently noted symptoms. Any risk factorof stroke did not know 16,5% of respondents, stress (50%) and highblood pressure (49%) were named most frequently as a risk factors. Conclusions: Future health education campaigns shouldprovide information regarding the warning signs and risk factorsof stroke and highlight the importance of early hospitalization. Keywords: stroke, risk factors, warning signs, knowledge.
