The article discusses various methods of ultraviolet therapy for treating chronic dermatoses in children. In the pediatricdermatology the following techniques are most widely used: medium wave therapy, including narrowband UVB 311nm andbroadband UVB 280-320nm; total UV radiation is prescribed, if indicated. The total PUVA therapy in children is not indicatedbecause of the high risk of side effects. Children after 14 may have PUVA baths (local and general), if the ratio "benefit -risk" is shifted to the first word. Topical photosensitizers as a component of PUVA therapy should be prescribed with cautiontoo. This article also describes procedures for determining the minimal erythema dose (MED), irradiation techniques, theirindications and contraindications.Key words: children, ultraviolet therapy, total UV irradiation, PUVA therapy, narrow-band UVB phototherapy at 311nm, broadband UVB phototherapy, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, vitiligo.
